Colin Stein Executive Director

Colin has been working in active transportation advocacy on and off since 2013, including previous staff, consulting, and Board roles with the BC Cycling Coalition, GoByBike BC, BEST, and HUB Cycling. A Vancouver resident since 1995, Colin began his career in communications, marketing, and operations in the private sector and public sectors, including economic development, health education, insurance, software, and sports. Since 2022, Colin has been working in BC’s gulf islands as a communications and engagement consultant and project manager for Rural Islands Economic Partnership, a Salt Spring Island-based NGO. In 2022, he also self-published an oral history of bicycle advocacy and activism on the south coast, Vanbikes: Vancouver’s Bicycle People and the Fight for Transportation Change, 1986-2011.

Coral Mackay Indigenous Relations and Strategy Consultant

Coral is a proud member of the K’ómoks First Nation, born and raised in the K’ómoks community, where she currently resides. She holds a Bachelor of Arts in Indigenous Studies and Public Administration from University of Victoria and works as a consultant supporting Indigenous-led initiatives, primarily in governance, communications, policy development, planning, and research. A former elected Councillor for K’ómoks First Nation, Coral brings senior-level experience in governance, strategic planning, and community engagement. During her tenure, she contributed to strengthening governance structures, advancing Indigenous rights and title, and supporting community-driven initiatives grounded in transparency, self-determination, and shared values. Coral works collaboratively with teams to support complex processes while keeping community priorities at the centre, bringing strategic and cultural insights to organizations in ways that are respectful, practical, and grounded in shared understanding. In her downtime, Coral enjoys cycling, reading, spending time on the land, and cooking for friends and family.


Carmen Mills Podcast Producer

Carmen co-managed Vancouver graphic design firm Emerald City Communications, co-founded Momentum: The Magazine for Self-Propelled People, and has indulged in much bicycle-focused mischief, such as The Wholesome Undie Ride and Dinosaurs Against Fossil Fuels. Podcast productions include Mountain Rain Dharma Podcast, Viewpoint Vancouver Podcast, and The Bike Sense Podcast. She currently works as Volunteer Coordinator for City of Burnaby Festivals & Events / Shadbolt Centre.


Jennifer Ward Communications and Engagement Strategist

Jennifer is a trained journalist and marketing professional with 15 years of experience helping organizations tell their stories, with the goal of inspiring action. At BCCC, she leads communications strategy, content development, and member engagement across the organization’s digital channels. Her background spans long-form writing, copywriting, campaign development, and strategic messaging for mission-driven organizations. When not on her laptop, you can find this Prairie transplant racing bikes (road and gravel) or exploring one of her adopted homes (Victoria or Whistler).


Ashley Wright Indigenous Relations and Strategy Consultant

Ashley Wright is a proud member of the K’ómoks First Nation. She grew up in the Comox Valley, and after attending Vancouver Island University and UBC Sauder School of Business, she spent 7 years working for financial institutions in a multitude of roles from customer service, investing, secured and unsecured lending, and management. Since 2014, Ashley has worked in various capacities for the K’ómoks First Nation, including in Economic Development and Self-Government/Treaty. As an independent contractor since 2018, Ashley has worked with several Nations, agencies, and institutions across BC on change management, capacity planning, project management, community and strategic planning, and engagement. In her downtime, Ashley enjoys spending time with her family, including camping, connecting with the land, and exploring all the beauty that Vancouver Island has to offer.
