The BC Cycling Coalition has been advocating for safer, more accessible and equitable cycling and active transportation province-wide since 1998.

Advocacy Work

Donations help pay for the time it takes to work with levels of government and agencies to influence changes that make cycling and active transportation safer and more accessible:

Bike Sense Education

Bike Sense has been a trusted source of information on bicycles and cycling to British Columbians since 2000. Learning about bikes and how to ride them—at any age, for any reason, in different conditions across British Columbia—is the purpose of Bike Sense.

The first many editions of Bike Sense were authored and edited by representatives of cycling advocacy organizations, cycling skills instructors and educators, and reviewed by transportation planners and related subject matter experts. Stakeholder contributions also informed the scope and tone of Bike Sense, and reflect some of the cultural changes occurring in personal mobility, whether for fitness, recreation, sport, transportation, or utility.

Bike Sense Podcast

Hosted by BCCC’s Board Chair, Peter Ladner, in this podcast, Peter chats with top supporters and experts from all over BC about climate change, getting around using bikes and walking, and the thrilling experiences and obstacles of cycling throughout the province.

Over 6 episodes, we’ve covered topics ranging from biking the spectacular trails in the Pacific Rim, to the importance of establishing safe school routes, to the realities of being a bikes-only family in Whistler.

Join us in engaging conversations with folks passionate about building safer, more accessible cycling communities throughout BC!
