Why do we need an AT Inventory?

Many small towns in BC want to improve their bike and pedestrian paths. We can assist you with the BCCC Active Transportation Inventory Project. This initiative gathers information from communities across BC about their current plans for walking and cycling. It particularly focuses on rural areas and small towns. The project creates a map-based inventory of bicycle and pedestrian plans from different planning organizations in British Columbia.

Goals of the program:
1. Gather information about safe infrastructure in the province to show where plans are in place.
2. Assist planners, funders, and politicians in understanding the most critical needs.
3. Enable communities throughout BC to collaborate and create safer routes to support their climate objectives.
4. Appreciate existing active transportation expansion plans and routes.
5. Advocate for increased provincial and federal funding for active transportation infrastructure across BC.
