Grant Program Overview

Following a successful pilot season in 2024, this granting program will again support the development and implementation of attended bike parking programs across the province of British Columbia. The program seeks to provide resources and educational support to communities to facilitate successful implementation of FREE bicycle parking services, with a focus on reducing bike theft and increasing cycling participation. This involves support for program business planning, marketing and promotion, as well as funding for equipment, labor, and associated costs.

Grants ranging from $10K to $50K are to be distributed to municipalities, Indigenous governments, or community organizations interested in promoting cycling. The grant will fund grantees’ provision of bike valet services for the Summer 2025 term; however, by accepting funding, grantees are agreeing to invest financially and socially in their communities’ long-term provision of this vital hybrid service and infrastructure for non-motorized travelers.

In 2025, the program will provide branded marketing resources, social media/promotion training, and support for standardized data collection and analysis. All grantee groups will be required to participate in a monthly virtual gathering, to share challenges and successes, to promote fine-tuning and insights-based revisioning

Grantees will be given reporting tools and templates for consistent and timely collection of their programs’ impacts. BCCC remains committed to grantee success in 2025, and is eager to kick off another season!
