Congratulation Maya and KoW!

Dear Board of Directors,

The Early Childhood Mobility Coalition is happy to notify you that the 'BALANCE BIKING PROGRAM AWARD (2021)' goes to Kids On Wheels for demonstrating exemplary leadership in creating innovative balance biking programming and forwarding childhood transport mobility. This is an annual award that is focused on recognizing new and innovative efforts to promote mobility for children eight years old and younger. Bike education, using balance bikes, for young children is effective in creating lifelong healthy habits, and preparing children for a smooth transition to pedal biking. The Kids on Wheels program is unique in incorporating early childhood learning techniques into the world of bike education. Providing children with a variety of developmentally appropriate activities during the learning experience is central to effective early childhood education programs. We believe that Maya Goldstein's work is leading edge and may provide a template for other successful programs across North America.

The Early Childhood Mobility Coalition is a group that supports children's play, physical activity, and mobility, specifically focused on balance bikes. Utilizing education tools such as balance bikes, traffic gardens, and developmentally appropriate curriculum is vital to the early childhood learning experience. Our mission is to educate people on the value of early childhood mobility and provide a space for sharing best practices related to mobility programs for children.

Thank you for supporting early childhood mobility and preparing children for the future of cycling in North America.

Best regards,
