Bike Valets in B.C. show growing impact on mode shift, climate: 2025 Final Report

For the second consecutive year, the BC Cycling Coalition administered the BC Bike Valet Grant Program on behalf of the provincial government in 2025, with the program recording significant leaps forward in community impacts.

From May through October, almost 70,000 bikes were parked over a total of 655 service days in B.C., providing an equivalent of 16 months of full-time work for paid staff and community volunteers. More importantly, grantee reporting showed the program’s impact active transportation growth and making progress on climate action.

A total of 12 grants averaging $20,000 enabled 14 communities to operate bike valets at fixed locations and special events across British Columbia.

As a complement to the grant program, the BCCC also provides the BC Bike Valet Toolkit, an online guide and set of templates to help manage and deliver bike valet services.
