Cycling Education
Develop your cycling skills, or learn how to build, maintain and fix bicycles.
Learn a wide variety of practical cycling skills, from beginner to advanced, and for any type of cycling, from city cycling to mountain biking.
Your local bike shop, community centre, cycling advocacy organization, or school may be good sources for information about cycling courses in your area. Some host their own educational programs!
Here’s a partial list of education providers by B.C. region:
South Coast
BC Cycling Coalition
Southern Interior
Northern BC
There are also independent cycling instructors and nationally certified CAN-BIKE certified instructors in communities across BC; they may be found on the CAN-BIKE website, through an internet search, or by contacting your local bike shop.
Bike shops and bike co-ops may provide classes in bike maintenance and repair in your community. Some also host recreational and social rides which are good sources of informal cycling education.
