Motor Vehicle Act - Proposed Changes 

B.C.’s Ministry of Transportation and Transit is considering potential changes to the Motor Vehicle Act for introduction in Spring 2027. As a Stakeholder organization, the BC Cycling Coalition has been invited to review and comment on policy proposals under consideration. 

Earlier this month, three of our Members signed a Confidentiality Agreement with the Ministry that enables each of you to review and comment on changes under consideration. You must not share this information with any other persons who have not signed a Confidentiality Agreement.

The attached Policy Papers detail policy proposals under consideration. You are invited to submit comments on any or all of the policy proposals under consideration. 

Note that this information is being shared for discussion purposes. No decisions have been made by the Ministry or Executive Council on advancing legislation to implement these proposals.
